In Y3 we have been investigating which materials are magnetic.  We found out that some metals are but all non-metals are not.

We have been measuring the amount of force needed to move an object on a variety of surfaces.  We found out that it is different because of friction.

We have been creating our own algorithms using Scratch and debugging them if they didn’t do what we expected them to.  This cane downloaded for free at scratch.mit.edu.

We have been creating pointillism pictures using a graphics package on the computer.

We like to play fun games to practise our times tables in Y3.  This one is called snap!

Year 3 and 4 got together during science day to carry out some investigations.  In Year 3 we created static electricity using a balloon to lift our tracing paper newts.  In Year 4 the children made aerodynamic gliders and we enjoyed testing them in the playground.

We are having so much fun in Year 3 even the local wildlife are trying to get in.  We found this imprint on our window one Monday morning!

Y3 very much enjoyed the visit by The Wigan Runner who joined in with our daily mile.
